The archive, explained

Terms of use

NUMISATO helps collectors explore physical Bitcoin objects and keep track of their collections. These terms describe the intended use of the site and its materials.

Use the archive as a reference

Records bring together information from the sources linked on each page. Research is ongoing and details may be incomplete or corrected. Check the original evidence before relying on a specification or identifying a particular piece.

NUMISATO does not offer the catalogued items for sale. A listing, photograph or collection status is not authentication, a valuation, investment advice or verification of Bitcoin funding. Links to makers, sellers and auction houses provide context; their services and transactions are separate from NUMISATO.

Your collection and account

Owned and wanted markers are personal tracking tools, not proof of ownership or a public register. Without signing in, your list is stored in the browser you use. Account features let you save a private list and access it when signed in elsewhere. Keep an exported backup of information that matters to you.

Use an email address you control for your account. Keep sign-in links private, and sign out on shared devices. Do not submit wallet private keys, recovery phrases or other secrets to NUMISATO. Read our Privacy notice for information about account and browser storage.

Respect images and contributions

Image rights and permissions vary. Follow the credit, licence and original source attached to each image before reusing it. These terms do not grant additional rights to photographs, logos or other third-party material.

When contributing information or photographs, provide accurate source details and disclose any known restrictions. Do not present another person’s work as your own. Our Sources & photography page explains how we handle evidence, permission and attribution.

Use the site responsibly

Do not attempt to access another person’s account or private collection, bypass access controls, or disrupt the site. If you notice a problem with a record or a site feature, contact hello@numisato.com with enough detail for us to investigate. Do not include sign-in tokens or wallet secrets.
